Registered Nurse PMC FT/36HRS

POSITION SUMMARY: Directs and provides professional nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum, while complying with the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to direct or provide nursing care. Provides supervision and guidance to other members of the nursing unit; and may be authorized, in the absence of the manager of patient care services, to make decisions affecting the nursing unit.

Under the supervision of a Medical Technologist ensures proper venipuncture, specimen collection and labeling, record keeping, results reporting and patient care in the collection of all types of laboratory specimens. Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, needles, procedures and supplies used in the laboratory. Understands proper operational and quality control standards and procedures.
