Kootenai Health, located in Coeur d'Alene, ID, is hiring a Director of Laboratory Services!

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Laboratory Services! 

 

As the Director of Laboratory Services, you will:

 

  • Be responsible for Laboratory Services (Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Anatomical Pathology, Point of Care, Phlebotomy)
  • Lead strategic growth of the lab as Kootenai Health adds new regional partners, reference lab accounts and new outreach services
  • Implement new Epic Beaker LIS and Heamonetic Blood Bank IS as the organization moves to the Epic electronic health record in 18-24 months
  • Serve as the primary lab leader/contact for two Critical Access Hospitals
  • Manage the Cooperative Testing Agreement with LabCorp with plans for insourcing of Kootenai Clinic (220+ providers) lab testing
  • Build and maintain a relationship with Mayo Medical Labs for advanced reference and esoteric testing
  • Direct continued regional growth with opportunities to add additional hospitals as reference lab clients
  • Function as a facilitator and change agent

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 

  • MLS- Medical Laboratory Scientist degree required
  • Master Degree - required (MBA, MHA or another related advanced degree)
  • 7-10 years in Laboratory Leadership role
  • Experience with regional laboratory services and scope (hospital, reference, outreach, outpatient lab testing at multiple sites/locations)
  • Experience with EPIC Beaker or other significant LIS (laboratory information system) deployment and functionality
  • Current and progressive with today's laboratory standards, best practices, quality and safety imperatives
  • Ability to positively impact culture within the laboratory staff and across the organization
