The Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Missouri School of Medicine is seeking an academically and research-oriented Cancer Biologist.
The Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences (PAS) is seeking to expand the scope of its research program, specifically research related to cancer biology. PAS seeks to hire a cancer biologist with a research focus on either cancer immunology or theranostics, including “liquid biopsies”, “cell-free DNA”, or exosomes, preferably with funded or fundable projects in translational immunotherapy or cell-based therapy, or new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. These topics are particularly timely in terms of the newly established Next Gen Precision Health Initiative. This initiative is designed to be a multidisciplinary effort that will build knowledge and collaboration across all disciplines, helping researchers achieve their lifelong goal of delivering real technology that can change lives for the better. The successful candidate will complement or expand research in a number of areas including Pathology and Surgery, as well as match up with similar research interests in the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position will be a tenure track/tenured position with a preference on hiring an individual with a strong track record of funding. This individual will also be expected to take on teaching roles within the School of Medicine.
