Perform routine and special laboratory tests within the different laboratory departments; the areas included are hematology, immunology, bacteriology, chemistry, serology, and microscopy.
Analyze quality-control data and take appropriate action when results are outside acceptable limits.
Utilize knowledge of laboratory information systems in areas of phlebotomy, specimen handling and processing to review reports for clerical accuracy and clinical indications.
Call critical test results to physicians and nurses immediately and report distribution as required.
Be able to use applicable laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, meters, microscopes, incubators, pipettes, autoclaves, and sterilizers.
Perform clerical functions such as maintaining files and assisting in inventory
Attend department meetings as well as trainings and participate in laboratory continuing education programs to ensure quality outcome.
Shifts and Schedule
Full Time Monday-Friday 3:00 PM-11:00 PM or 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, with rotating weekends.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Minimum of two years as a Medical Technologist, preferred.
Completion of Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science Training.
Certification as a MT by the Board of ASCP, CLS by NCA, HEW or ISCLT is recommended.
Must meet CLIA requirements for job description.

Additional Salary Information: Shift Differentials-Employees must work four (4) hours into shift to be eligible
$2.00/hr. for evenings (3:00 PM-11:00PM)
$5.00/hr. for nights (11:00 PM-7:00AM)
$2.00/hr. for weekends, (Paid in addition to regular shift differentials)
Weekend shift begins at 11:00 PM on Friday night until 11:00 PM on Sunday
