This position aids in providing efficient, effective, and economical quality laboratory services. Responsible for the maintenance of policies and procedures for the Quality Program in the Laboratory; assists with the creation, evaluation and documentation of new procedures for Blood Bank; ensure compliance with patient quality assurance standards; assure the directives of HFAP, ISDH, CAP, and other regulatory agencies are met by the Quality System; ensure that all the clinical functions necessary for meeting the laboratory needs of the patients are provided in an efficient and cost-effective manner; validate the functioning of the Blood Bank Information System under the direction of the Lab Manager; participates in the department's planning, revenue analysis, budgeting, education, and other functions.
This position is Monday-Friday, working 8 hour daytime shifts, start time flexible. No weekend or holiday rotation.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science.
Board-registered by one of the national registries associated with laboratory practice (ASCP, AMT, NCAMLP, HEW, etc.).
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of five years recent experience in a Blood Bank.
Training and/or experience with use of a Blood Bank Quality System (LIS).
