Montefiore is seeking to fill several positions in the Department of Pathology:
Clinical Laboratory Technologists:
Perform routine and emergency tests on blood and other body fluids using a variety of automated and manual instrumentation in a timely manner. Maintain equipment and records according to department procedures and regulatory agencies guidelines in the areas of QA and QC. Use independent judgment to solve technical and procedural problems. In some instances, ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time is necessary. Position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in a physical science, medical technology preferred. Associate must have and maintain a NYS clinical lab technologist license or a provisional (previously known as limited) license.
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the laboratory on a day-to-day basis, per shift, to ensure highest quality of patient care while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements. The individual oversees staffs' performance, interactions, and quality of work. He/she is also responsible for managing the clinical operations, ensuring instrumentation and testing run smooth and without any issues or errors. The Supervisor is responsible for enforcing compliance with any regulatory agency’s requirements. The individual has staff reporting directly to him/her and has a human resource component responsibility. The Supervisor is expected to be able to address and resolve any issues brought up to his/her attention, act as an active liaison between the laboratory and the clinical staff (physicians, nursing, etc.) and have direct and open lines of communication with other supervisors, the laboratory manager, site director, administration and others as needed.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
NYS CLT license required
6 years of bench technologist experience required; 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
