Work in collaboration with department medical director and technical staff to prioritize and develop new and novel Immunohistochemical staining assays. Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities related to histological preparations. Partner with system pathologists to provide education related to the assays developed. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with assays in real time in support of our pathology services.
Assist in gap analysis of current menu to desired state
Research antibodies in literature and other resources
Select antibody vendor and clone(s)
Develop and optimize protocols
Perform validation studies based on intended clinical use of an antibody
Per CAP requirements, educate pathologists and clinicians about the properties and uses of the antibodies.
Exploring and adoption of new technologies (RNA scope).
Assist the medical director in writing educational material for our clients
