The Department of Biological Sciences at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position for Medical Laboratory Science Program Director.
We are seeking a colleague that will be responsible for the Administration of MTU’s NAACLS Accredited MLS Program. This involves being a liaison between MTU and both the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification and the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS). This candidate will also be responsible and work in conjunction with the Clinical Practicum Coordinator.
This position also involves Academic Advising to MLS undergraduate students and teaching MLS related core courses, up to four courses per semester in Fall and Spring. The position also entails curriculum design and maintenance of the M.S. program in Clinical Laboratory Management. Another important component is the oversight of MLS outreach and recruitment efforts.

The minimum requirements for this position are a Master’s Degree in a related field, valid MLS(ASCP) certification, and 3 years of teaching experience. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of NAACLS Standards, experience working with both graduate and undergraduate students, excellence in teaching, exemplary organizational and communication skills.
