Live, work and play in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado!  Gunnison Valley Health is looking for a strong Medical Technologist (MT) Generalist with blood bank experience, communication skills and quality results.  This individual needs to be able to work independently in chemistry, special chemistry, coagulation, hematology, serology, blood bank, phlebotomy and minimal microbiology.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • MT: Completion of Medical Technology Program approved by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).or Three years of academic studies at an accredited college and completion of 12 consecutive months of internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology, leading to a Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience:

  • The MT must have completed internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology.
  • The MT/MLT must have comprehensive knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques and instrumentation and the ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment while performing routine and emergency procedures.

Licenses/Certification:

  • ASCP board certified or equivalent, or qualified through examination by the Health, Education and Welfare accreditation program. Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required. Current CPR or BLS preferred.
