Ensures the quality of care in the use of radiation producing sources and imaging equipment and the protection of patients and staff from radiation. Calibrates all radiation therapy equipment. Conducts X-ray machine performance surveys as needed and implements quality control procedures for electronic imaging devices. Recommends radiation safety procedures to areas using radiation. Educates personnel in radiation protection practices. Responsible for the application of radiological and health physics services, utilizing methods including radiotherapy.
Master's degree through an CAMPEP approved Program in Radiation Therapy Physics
5+ years experience in Medical Physics
Current Texas State Medical Physcist License or eligible -- Texas Department of Health required.
Successful completion of or eligibility for American Board of Radiology examination in Therapeutic Radiation Physics.
