Performs embedding, cutting, staining. Prepares specimens for gross description. Performs special stains. Keeps records of stains and other solutions up to date. Performs daily maintenance on all the Histology equipment. Photographs specimens when needed.
Bachelorï¿½s Degree preferred.
Florida State License as Histology Technologist.
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of the Histology work flow.
Good oral and written communication skills
Must have complete understanding of the procedures performed in the Histology Department. Ability to determine the accuracy of tasks performed. Broad knowledge of all stains used in the department.
Must have at least 1 year experience in a Histology Department preferred.
