Responsible for assisting the Manager and/or Laboratory Director in the management
and maintenance of the laboratory information system, to including planning, coordinating,implementing, evaluating and improving the quality of patient care. Plan, organizes, directs and evaluates the technical and administrative operations of the clinical area of the laboratory of supervision.
Other related duties as assigned.
Supervises daily operations of assigned departments
Assists in selection of personnel
Makes recommendations on hiring, firing and discipline
Reviews quality control and patient results
Performs laboratory testing
Performs operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrument and equipment
Completion of academic studies which meet the requirements of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, or one of the physical, chemical or biological sciences, or the equivalent academic studies. (2 yrs in a Community College) with subsequent pertinent clinical rotation in an approved laboratory
Required: At least 5 years experience as medical technologist At least 1 year of experience as a Section Supervisor
State of Florida Supervisor's License in at least 3 specialties. - Required
State of Florida Supervisor's License in all 5 specialties. - Preferred
