Histology Technician

New York Cancer and Blood Specialists

New York Cancer Specialists, a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a Histology Technician to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient 7-day per week Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare tissue specimens for routine and special procedures to confirm a patient diagnosis.
  • Perform complex Histological procedures, record and analyze data and maintain and repairs instruments.
  • Grossing tissue in preparation for Pathology analyses.
  • Observe, record and analyze data in order for the Pathologist to make procedural decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in Life Science, Biology, Chemistry or Medical Technology
  • New York State License.
  • Completed Histotechnologist (HTL) program.
  • Histology Technician Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and substances preferred. New Grads encourage to apply. 
  • In depth knowledge of laboratory best practices.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems.

 

 

Daytime hours: Monday – Friday.
Salary up to: $38 hr. Excellent benefit package.
