The Molecular Pathology Laboratory at the GW Hospital is looking for a Medical Technologist with Molecular laboratory experience to join the team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a clinical molecular diagnostics laboratory which will provide a wide range of testing services in the area of molecular genetics employing a variety of state-of -the-art molecular biology methods, including FISH and NGS.
The ideal candidate possesses a working knowledge of molecular biology with experience in the performance and application of techniques used in clinical molecular diagnostic testing including: DNA and RNA isolation, real-time PCR, quantititatve and qualitative reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR) and other molectular diagnostic techniques. Candidate should have the ability to follow standard protocols and to independently perform laboratory routine testing in the area of moleculary pathology.
Performs highly complex testing and coordinates teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science and medical students, residents, fellows, and other members of hospital. Execute tasks required to maintain accreditation with JCAHO, CAP, DCRA, AABB, and FDA.
