The Histology Laboratory Supervisor must be a Certified Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histotechnician (HT) with a minimum of 2 years successful laboratory management experience.
Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership skills in areas of developing, training, and motivating staff.
Oversight, supervision, and coordination of day-to-day histology operations for a department of 9 employees.
Assists Operations Manager in developing, implementing, revising, interpreting and enforcing standard operating procedures and company policies.
Maintains quality control standards within CAP and CLIA guidelines.
Participates on the quality assurance committee.
Assists with purchasing and budgeting for the histology department.
Oversees scheduling and employee time off requests.
Performs employee performance evaluations.
Provides technical bench support as needed.
Helps maintain turnaround time expectations and performs other tasks as assigned.

Clinical Laboratory of the Black Hills is an independent pathology practice providing anatomic and cytologic services to Rapid City, South Dakota and surrounding communities. Rapid City is the gateway to the Black Hills and offers a variety of four season, family friendly activities. Our histology department processes 25,000 surgical cases, and 200 autopsies per year. We also have a progressive IHC department, and perform a variety of special stains and frozen sections.
