Performs, calculates, records, and reports laboratory analysis in multiple sections of the laboratory such as blood bank, serology, hematology, chemistry, microbiology, histology and urinalysis for the purpose of treatment and disease.
Performs a variety of tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Correlates and interprets tests within department. Informs nursing floors and/or physicians of abnormal results. May take cultures, draw venous and capillary blood samples.
Panic values verified, documented, and reported according to laboratory policy.
Verifies name of the test specimen or tube within laboratory accession log sheet number and laboratory requisition. Checks data on log sheets, printouts, or requisition for transcription errors.
Samples, processed, tested, and reported according to expected turnaround time for inpatient STATS, ASAP, convenient care, convalescent homes, and Emergency Room Services.
Able to work independently in all major areas of the laboratory. i.e. Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Bacteriology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.
Consistently meets deadlines in daily responsibilities; requests assistance when necessary to complete duties on time.
Maintains adequate levels of materials used to do the tests. Makes reagents according to pre-established directions as required to perform various laboratory procedures
Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned; regularly helps others.
Consistently looks for solutions to problems and takes appropriate action; exhibits resourcefulness when first approach does not work-looks for alternative to accomplish goal or objective.

Rapid test results within 30 minuets for ER and Convenient Care Services. Including Quick Strep, CBC, Chem. Profile, Urinalysis, Mono. Spot.
Performs required routine maintenance of equipment, notifies supervisor or manager of needed non-routine repairs
EDUCATION: B.S. in Biological Science; ASCP Certified Medical Technologist.
EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred, but not required.
