Prepares slides from surgical, outpatient and bone marrow specimens for examination by a pathologist
Collects specimens from surgery and outpatient specimens from doctor's offices
Set up and assisting pathologist or assistant in gross of tissue, and processing of tissue on VIP Processor
Embeds tissues into molds after processing, selecting proper size base mold and correct orientation of tissue
Prepares a variety of solutions according to written protocols. Handles the general repair and maintenance of all equipment
Must be a graduate of an AMA approved program or possess 3-5 years of histology experience
Must be ASCP registered or registry eligibility
Must have a discernible track record of a positive, can-do attitude
Must have strong leadership ability and/or experience as a Lead Tech, or, in a charge role previously
Four (4) or more years of current laboratory experience in histology, with exposure to quality assurance processes, client/patient interaction, etc.
HT (ASCP) or equivalent or registered by a nationally recognized credentialing body
Graduate of AMA approved Histology program
3+ years of histology experience
