Summary of Essential Job Duties: The Tourtellotte lab studies the role of growth factor and transcription factor signaling in peripheral nervous system target tissue innervation and innervation hemeostasis (Tourtellotte, Am. J. Pathology, 186: 489; Oliviera Fernandes et al., J. Neurosci., 35: 5566; Jackson et al., Devel., 141: 2452). The Postdoctoral Scientist will work independently on research projects under the supervision of the principal investigator (mentor). A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the role of growth factor signaling in peripheral autonomic neuropathy. The candidate will be expected to design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, troubleshoot experiments, analyze data for publication and grant applications, present research at national and international meetings, and prepare manuscripts for publication. Teaching other research staff, students, and residents may be required.
