The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) has an immediate opening for a full-time Manager Specimen Acquisition. This role seeks an inspiring leader who provides strategic, operational, and thoughtful leadership to support The University of Toledo Medical Center's mission to improve the human condition by providing patient-centered, university-quality care.
This position is responsible to coordinate all aspects of specimen acquisition and processing of all shifts in the Clinical Laboratory, including phlebotomy on all inpatients and outpatients (all ages), and all specimen acquisition and receipt on the University of Toledo Medical Center campus.
Minimum qualifications/education and experience required:
Phlebotomy experience and understanding required.
Baccalaureate degree required.
MT (ASCP) or equivalent ASCP certification required.
Three years of clinical laboratory experience required.
Computer data entry experience required.
Shows evidence of professional judgment in decision-making.
Demonstrates capability and understanding in communication and management of human resources.
Two years of laboratory supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge of insurance billing preferred.
