Summary of Department/Service Line: Outpatient laboratory services offered at UPMC Pinnacle provide your health care team with the most accurate and efficient laboratory results possible, while remaining dedicated to patient safety. That is why UPMC Pinnacle's Laboratory Department maintains the highest standards in the field, including top performing pathologists and staff. We are proud to be accredited by the CAP (College of American Pathologists) Laboratory Accreditation Program for many of our laboratories, our lab at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle is AABB accredited and 95 percent of our testing personnel have received either an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Sciences.

Tuition assistance after six months of employment (must be in a qualified FTE)
Uses independent judgment in applying scientific principles of manual and automated methods in the performance of medical laboratory procedures to be used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. May work independently or in varying size groups, rotating among sections of the laboratory or in permanently assigned sections providing 24 hour daily staffing under the supervision of a section supervisor, administrative director or Medical Director of the clinical laboratory.
Minimum of Associates degree and completion of an accredited MT or MLT training program.
Must have passed a nationally recognized certification examination related to Medical Laboratory Technology
