Suburban Hospital is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Specialist to join our team. In this advanced technologist role, the Anatomic Pathology Specialist will:
Manage the Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Special Staining area, including:
IHC staining and special staining
new antibody/stain validation
Share expertise and work collaboratively with Routine Histotechnology staff
Assist the department Manager in ensuring the department meets all Laboratory Services, CAP, TJC and State of Maryland requirements for compliance, including training and competency assessments
Provide input to the Manager and Pathologists to develop departmental initiatives, goals and standard
An associate degree is required; a bachelor’s degree is desirable.
Completion of an accredited Histotechnology program or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is required.
HT or HTL (ASCP) is required. QIHC or eligible is required.
Five years’ experience in the relevant discipline in a clinical laboratory is required
Experience in other related clinical laboratory disciplines helpful
Experience with training or education preferred
Experience with staff direction/supervision is preferred
