Position Summary: The Laboratory Manager is responsible for administration, programmatic and personnel management, development, productivity, materials management and regulatory compliance. The Manager facilitates the delivery of high quality, efficient, cost effective and relevant clinical services while assuring that the laboratory maintains a patient/customer/client focus.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Bachelor's degree in a science or healthcare related field
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Current CA CLS License
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Five years of management experience within a complex healthcare setting.
Must be willing to testify in court regarding testing activities if subpoenaed
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Qualification as a technical supervisor under CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act)
Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Management experience in an academic/laboratory setting.
Master's Degree in a related field
