Assigns, oversees, and reviews the work of employees.
Directs all phases of work, quality, service, and costs; and performs tests or assays as required.
Primarily supervisory duties related to general supervision of staff including, interviewing, hiring, orientation of new staff, competency assessment, performance management, etc.
Responsible for scheduling to ensure adequate coverage of shift. In addition, may be required to cover bench as staffing situations dictate, therefore must remain competent in all technical aspects of the position.
Normally requires a B.S./B.A. Degree with minimum 2 years of relevant supervisory experience.
Must meet all State and Local licensing requirements where the laboratory is located and must meet CLIA requirements.
Requires MT, ASCP, or AMT certification.
Candidate must be eligible for license as Serology Supervisor, Clinical Chemistry Supervisor, and Hematology Supervisor by the FL Department of Health.
