Director Laboratory Services
In this role, you will direct and control the efficient delivery of one or more of the support services (e.g. information processing, specimen management, and client services). You will be responsible for MWS Central Specimen Processing and Material Services. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements; prepare and monitor department budgets; and negotiate contracts with vendors, internal support groups, and customers; and develop pricing strategy for new business ventures and clients.
At least ten years of experience in a high-volume clinical laboratory
At least five years of experience in a supervisory/managerial position
At least five years of general experience in the service area, e.g. specimen management or computer support
A master’s degree in clinical laboratory science or a related field; or a master’s degree in health care administration, business administration, public administration, or a related field; or six years of experience in a directly related field with a high school diploma or GED
A valid and current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license or California Cytotechnologist license
The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
