Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full-time Supervising Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Cytology). The Supervising Clinical Laboratory Technologist directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in performing Cytology procedures to obtain data for use in diagnosis, treatment and research and supervises technical and non-technical staff involved in the technical preparation of samples for cytological review. The Supervising Clinical Laboratory Technologist also provides direct administrative and clinical support to the Director of Cytology, Department Chairman and Administrator, screens, evaluates and interprets gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides, enters diagnosis into computer, maintains records, and assists on fine needle aspiration biopsy procedures.
Applicants must possess a full license to practice as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York; or have Eligibility for full licensure as a Cytotechnologist in the State of New York. They must also have a Master’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related discipline and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience as a Cytotechnologist; or a Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or a related discipline and the equivalent of five years of full time experience as a Cytotechnologist; or a Bachelor’s degree with a one year course of study at an accredited school of Cytotechnology and the equivalent of seven years of full-time experience as a Cytotechnologist. The preferred candidate will have previous clinical laboratory supervisory experience and cytology experience in an oncology setting.
