Cytologist performs diagnostic cytology procedures on gynecological and non-gynecological specimens. Performs specimen preparation to ensure quality test results and accurate diagnosis by pathologist. Performs specimen staining to ensure quality test results and accurate diagnosis by pathologist. Ensure quality control of all cytology specimens and procedures within the department. Maintains the overall efficient operation of the department adhering to technical and scientific standards. Communicates to maintain team knowledge of regulatory standards in order to satisfy compliance requirements, and participate in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team, and departmental development.

3-5 years experience in gyn and non-gyn cytology.
Experience in reading/reviewing/writing policies and procedures
Experience in training others.
Two years of college with at least 12 semester hours in science, 8 of which are biology
Post-graduate training under the direction and supervision of a Board Certified Pathologist.
Cytotechnologist registry with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
