Geisinger Medical Laboratories operates with cutting edge technology and state-of-the-art information systems to provide laboratory services throughout Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania. Leads, coordinates and manages the complete resources of the Laboratory Offsite Phlebotomy Team (PSC and Mobile Phlebotomy Staffs) to serve the system-wide facilities of Geisinger Medical Laboratories (GML). Provides administrative leadership and assures daily operational activities support the provision of the highest quality, efficient, service minded and technologically advanced services for GML and its clients.
Works collaboratively with VP, AVP, Operational Directors/Managers, Team Leaders/Supervisors, Pre-Analytical Specialists, Doctoral Directors and department Chair to achieve system-wide quality and standardization goals.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Demonstrates competence in written and oral communication skills (interpersonal effectiveness).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
M.A. or M.S. from an accredited institution and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a laboratory management role.
Bachelor's degree and minimum of six (6) years relevant experience in a laboratory management role. Minimum of ten (10) years relative work experience including supervision in a medical laboratory setting may substitute for the degree requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Independent travel to laboratory sites throughout the system is required.
