Provide medical laboratory diagnostic and therapeutic information, products, and services by establishing specimen preparation procedures; developing and implementing analytical procedures; evaluating laboratory information; consulting with Pathologists; reporting results according to protocols mandated by public health department.
Maintain quality results by participating in the quality assurance program; consulting with the Pathologists, reviewing quality control and quality assurance programs; making adjustments in policy and procedures; generating reports and maintaining records.
Sustain medical laboratory information system by identifying information needs and problems; recommending improvements; establishing priorities; testing; creating user manuals; training employees; maintaining security and confidentiality.
Implement new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing and monitoring progress.
Maintain medical Laboratory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.
Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Coordinate daily operations of the Lab.
Develop operations, quality and troubleshooting procedures.
Participate in department projects.
Certify instrument performance; arrange equipment replacement, service and repair.
Manage all aspects of the Lab.
Four plus years’ experience in managing processes, presenting technical Information, management proficiency, equipment maintenance, training , analyzing information, managing staff, quality assurance, clinical Lab testing, Lab environment and technical understanding.
Experience working in controlled environment, following safety measures to minimize exposure to chemicals, body fluids, blood borne pathogens, etc.
Experience identifying and solving problems as well as handling difficult situations.
Analytical skills necessary to prepare/interpret a variety of management reports, analyze complex data and trouble shoot equipment. Able to collect data, perform calculations, maintain system logs and operate Laboratory computer equipment.
Exceptional Supervisory experience. Must possess extraordinary interpersonal communication skills and be able to lead, motivate and direct others.
Ability to manage staff in order to maintain a professional atmosphere and provide top quality service to our Patients.
Effective data trending, document control and technical bench skills
COLA/CLIA regulatory expertise.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and Certification
Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry or Biology. Master’s preferred. License required in the State of New York (ASCP Certified).
Salary up to $90,000 per year depending on experience. Dynamic work environment generous benefit package.
