The Department of Pathology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) invites applications for the position of Director of Anatomic Pathology. Applications from clinician-scientists are encouraged. This is a non-tenured or tenure track position offered at the Associate Professor or Professor Rank, commensurate with qualifications. The Director of Anatomic Pathology serves on the Executive Management Committee of the Department of Pathology and will interface with the leadership at University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago.
Candidates must have either an MD or MD/PhD degree, licensure to practice Medicine in Illinois, and have American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic Pathology. The organization of the Department of Pathology is uniquely designed to foster the development of academic careers and has attracted outstanding faculty members in pathology education, diagnostic pathology, and pathology research. The successful candidate will have a record of leadership and experience in clinical diagnostics, administrative, research, and teaching at an academic department. The Director of Anatomic Pathology must have a strong surgical pathology background.
