ResponsibilitiesThe Data Reader at UCLA Olympic Analytical Lab is responsible for reading and evaluating data arising from a variety of analytical techniques including GCMS and LCMS in order to determine whether banned substances and/or their metabolites or markers are present in samples. This position will require working weekends or holidays as needed.
Duties include: Review and certify screen results, participate in problem solving, proficiency and re-accreditation surveys. Load and unload samples from GCMS and LCMS instruments, monitor method performance, tune instruments in preparation for analyses, prepare and initiate batch sequences and other tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.
QualificationsGeneral knowledge of chemistry principles. Working knowledge of analytical techniques such as GCMS and LCMS. Ability to initiate work independently.
Knowledge of and ability to apply and review basic laboratory safety practices. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays.
