Responsibilities: Research and interpret information from professional societies, regulatory agencies and hospital planning committees to ensure laboratory services are current and compliant with regulations. Coordinate laboratory operations, assuring the accurate flow of all activities as related to overall patient care, inspiring laboratory staff to achieve higher goals and ensure that Beebe Medical Center maintains its position as a leader in the provision of medical services to the community. Analyze statistical and financial performance data. Prepare spreadsheets and graphical information to demonstrate departmental performance against established benchmarks. Prepare reports to demonstrate past performance and future expectations.
Analyze technical information and make decisions on the purchase or lease of technical equipment and instrumentation to further the advancement of laboratory services. Communicate and network with physicians and community leaders and interpret their medical needs into innovative laboratory policies and procedures to further the mission of the hospital both financially and scientifically. Analyze departmental program needs and develop strategies based on the overall organizational strategic plans.
Educate staff and community, maintain a professional working relationship with the Pathology Medical Director and associates and provide continuous assessment and improvement of the performance of care and services provided. Provide leadership to the Laboratory Team, functioning as a facilitator, organization liaison, and mentor for the team.
Competencies and skills: Essential: * Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal * Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members * Able To Withstand Crisis Situations * Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors * Experience With Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio, Etc.
Education: Essential: * Bachelor's Degree in related field
