The University of South Alabama College of Medicine invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Pathology. To be considered, applicants must hold an MD, DO or MD/DO-PhD degrees, be board certified and be eligible for licensure in the State of Alabama. The successful candidate should have demonstrated abilities to lead contemporary, multidisciplinary educational efforts in undergraduate and postgraduate medical curricula and to foster the evolution of a robust, collaborative departmental research effort. In this latter context, the University of South Alabama Health System and College of Medicine are launching new, integrated care delivery and translational research programs in selected cross-disciplinary domains in which pathology will play a major role. Finally, the successful candidate should have demonstrated expertise relative to business outreach and development with the goal of expanding institutional pathology services throughout our service area and beyond.
