This role is responsible for performing tasks related to project completion including analysis, training, testing, documentation, problem resolution and implementation for instrumentation and middleware products used by laboratory information systems. You will provide input and assist in developing project plans. This role works under the administrative supervision of the Lab IT Program Director or designate.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the development and maintenance of all laboratory information system. Performs file maintenance and updates software as requested. Verifies that all data has been entered correctly.
Provides the IS Help Desk with support as appropriate, including 24x7 primary on call coverage.
Assists in the testing and verification of software provided in periodic software releases.
Assists in the testing of any software changes prior to those changes being installed in the production area.
Aids in the verification of reports as to completeness and accuracy before releasing into the production area.
Develops and runs ad hoc reports related to middleware products as required; meets the requestors needs in a timely manner.
Monitors, maintains and troubleshoots instrument interfaces.
Assists with frontline support in troubleshooting of peripheral devices and all applications.
Leads projects for LIS with vendors, IT, and external customers
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Science OR certification as a MT AND 5 years laboratory experience OR minimum of 12 years laboratory experience required.
Five years of experience working with a laboratory information system is preferred.
