DCMH is looking for a Lead Medical Technologist to help maintain excellent rapport among Laboratory staff, physicians, nursing staff and other hospital departments while overseeing the laboratory operations and serving as a resource for technologists performing complex specimen processing and testing and assisting physicians in the diagnosis of patients.
The Lead Tech is responsible for the daily specimen testing/reporting activities and processes performed by Medical Technologists and Technicians. Will maintains policies and procedures, quality control, equipment maintenance and proficiency testing practices throughout areas of responsibility assigned by Laboratory Manager.
Will ensures area(s) of responsibility are maintained in accreditation with College of American Pathologists (CAP), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and licensing for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) for patient care and nursing. Also ensures laboratory is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
National registration by ASCP/HEW as an MT or equivalent.
Four (4) years previous hospital experience preferred.
Must qualify as a general supervisor as defined by CLIA 88 regulations.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
Additional Salary Information: $6,000 sign-on bonus and $4,000 relocation assistance
